The unit can be plugged into any OSX based Macintosh and Windows based computer. If you need to transfer data with a Windows XP, 2000, ME computer you'll be glad to know that the unit is instantly detected and requires no drivers. If you wish to have windows machines write to the hard drive you will have to format the drive in a windows compatible file system.
